Mike Cosgrove is a professor in the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business. 

Mike writes The Econoclast®, a monthly economic re搜索 report which provides comprehensive analysis for institutional investors and corporations within a classical business 周期的框架.  He is published in Investor’s Business Daily among other national business papers. He is a member of The Wall Street Journal's monthly economic survey. 他一直在 an invited member of "Blue Chip Economic Indicators" since 1983. 

Prior to the University of Dallas he worked at Gulf Oil and other companies for 15 年.

His book "The Cost of Winning" was published by Transactions Press/Rutgers University and is available from online bookstores.

Why did you become a professor?
To teach a subject I enjoy. Being a professor provides one with the ability to do re搜索 on areas of interest and write occasional op-eds expressing my viewpoints on different economic topics.  

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Helping professionals better understand economics and be able to utilize economics. 

What do you hope students gain from your courses?
A working knowledge of economics that helps in their personal and professional lives. 

What did you do prior to entering academia?
Worked in the energy industry. 

What are you passionate about outside of the University?
My family and grandchildren.
